Restaurant Industry Documentary w/ Restaurant Association of NZ

DineTube has been given the opportunity to work on a documentary that tells the story of the New Zealand Restaurant industry. We've produced this introductory video that gives you a great overview of what the project is about.

The video features a short presentation from the producer Daniel Davis and an interview with the project mastermind Steve Mackenzie the CEO of the Restaurant Association of NZ. We're looking for people to take part and support the project in any way possible. Check out the video and get in contact!

DineTube for Charity (Dine Aid New Zealand)

DineTube has once again donated it's video services to a charity organization to assist with communicating and raising awareness about their cause.

The charity we're helping is DineAid where New Zealand restaurants work collectively throughout November and December to collect $2 donations from tables across the country. 100% of the money raised goes to the Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland City Mission's which in turn distribute to over 200 locations to assist families on low food security at Christmas.

Our video is targeted at restaurant owners. However, the video will be useful for just about anyone with an interest in the charity. We're looking forward to seeing some great results generated from having this very useful tool:

DineTube for Charity

'DineTube for Charity' will be producing a documentary for North Shore hospice!

NS Hospice is a service and facility dedicated to providing the best possible quality of life
for those with a terminal illness. Specialist doctors and nurses experienced in palliative
and terminal care and counsellors work together with the patient and their family to relieve pain and provide physical, emotional and spiritual support during the final stages of a patient's life.

Our documentary is in conjunction with their event 'The Vintners Brunch' where 12 of Auckland's most prominent restaurant's will be cooking for 460 guests at Sky City. We will be providing lead-in interviews and coverage throughout the day featuring key personalities behind the event and plenty of delicious footage of the food.

Complete ownership of the content will be gifted to NS hospice to use as a tool to inspire the public about their magnificent work within the community and help them raise the $2.5 million needed to continue their service.

A little less rain please

It's the first day of winter and mother nature is giving us a good lashing. As much as we would like to operate under any weather condition torrential down pours like these really do make things difficult on the production front. Nevertheless we have been keeping very busy lining up new restaurants to feature and we will be working on them very soon.

This week we've been lucky to receive some publicity on the M2 Magazine & M2 Woman websites. The newsletter which is going out to over 10,000 subscribers will give us some much welcomed exposure for the concept. If you're subscribed keep an eye out for their next newsletter or you can view the article on these addresses:

So, what's happening?

The past week has seen two new content areas come to fruition and the completion of the base build for the website. There have been many stages in the development of DineTube yet all we have done from day one till now would be considered as the beginning. Now we begin to put words into action and plans into place to create a successful service that creates something great for everyone.

The first edition of "So you think you can cook" [SYTYCC] is a clip from Kiwi comedian Leigh Hart's Moon Television Network. We contacted Leigh last week and he kindly agreed to let us feature "Speed Cooking" for our first episode of SYTYCC. Our hope for this hilarious video will be to inspire an entirely new wave of ideas and create an entertaining bridge for people to discover DineTube. We have 3 submissions and our first SYTYCC original should be filmed within the month.

We're happy with the response to the first edition of our “Campaign to get you out to the Markets”. The fish market was a great first feature as many have been surprised to see that it's more than just fish and smelly wet floors... In fact, quite the opposite. This was also our first foray into a more webisode style format featuring a presented story line. Our goal was to keep the focus on the people and the story with the job of the presenter to set the vibe and tie it all together. We welcome your feedback on this episode as we're aiming to develop and expand the format.

From here our goal is to get back to our core content area: the restaurant's. We have three new articles due for upload this week: the first is “The Hardware Cafe” which is live as we write, another city cafe and our first Indian restaurant. Throughout the week we are meeting with several prominent fine dining establishments which will be an excellent addition to the DineTube repertoire.

As the restaurant coverage, content and audience grows our wish is that DineTube becomes a useful and engaging network that betters people's ability to find a great place to eat. The support so far from followers has been amazing and we promise to continually strive to provide a quality product you'll appreciate.

Happy eating.

Start your engines!

The build is close to completion and we are ready to start producing new content. It is from this point that DineTube will truly find it's feet as we develop a more dynamic and interactive platform our users. If anyone has any great places to eat they would like to share with us about be sure to let us know. In the footer you will notice a 'User' section with all the links you need to communicate and interact with us here at DineTube.

Today, we are heading out to complete our first webisode for the "DineTube campaign to get you out to your local markets". We hope you enjoy it! We also have two dining articles close to completion for upload this week as well. We have uncovered the Guru of Newmarket!

Happy eating.

We're Live!

Well, it's been a long journey but we are finally here! We're currently in a test phase so if anyone notices any mistakes or something that is missing be sure to let us know. There will be a lot I'm sure!

We are still under construction so if there is something you think could be better be sure to point it out. The feedback we have received so far has been amazing so keep it coming.

We hope you enjoy DineTube... This is only the beginning!
